On Saturday and Sunday, August 15th and 16th, the second weekend of the 10th Anniversary season of the Jazz Age Lawn Party took place on Governors Island. Over 4,000 guests per day traveled back in time to celebrate the music and zeitgeist of the 1920s and ‘30s, learn the hottest dance steps of the time, frolic in their flapper dresses and glad rags and enjoy sophisticated bites and vintage-inspired beverages - especially the Golden Age elixirs featuring St-Germain French Elderflower Liqueur - all set within a romantic yet playful setting.
Originating as a small gathering of friends longing for the simpler charms of a bygone era, the event has evolved into an international destination, one of the world’s most beloved and longest running events of its kind. Created and hosted by Michael Arenella, the event has been widely anticipated by flappers, sporting gents and tiny tots alike, and revered year after year by The New York Times, The New Yorker, Vogue and countless media around the globe.
