These up-and-coming designers stand out on the NYC fashion scene.
BRIGHT IDEA A look from Area by designers Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk

1. Jenny Cheng, Esther Gauntlett and David Moses
The trio behind Moses Gauntlett Cheng, founded in 2015, work with natural fibers to enhance their signature homemade aesthetic, which extends to tweed bras, herringbone jackets and mesh minidresses.

2. Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk
The duo, who debuted Area in 2013, specialize in textile manipulation, including Braille-like embossing techniques that showcase an element of fantasy and what the designers call “hardcore femininity.”

3. Shan Huq
The 20-year-old self-taught designer’s work (he launched his line in 2013) experiments with flashy garb for clubgoers—think velour polo tops and silk dresses—all encompassing an ’80s misfits vibe.

4. Kerby Jean-Raymond
Jean-Raymond established his luxury men’s sportswear brand, Pyer Moss, in 2013; two years later he was on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. His collection for fall is inspired by mental health issues.

5. Raul Solis
Solis’ LRS Studio, founded in 2014, gets fuel from sculpture, photography, music and street culture. His bedtime-influenced fall collection features pajama-esque separates and blanket coats in playful unicorn and rose prints.
