Avant Gallery iPOP Exhibition

| December 18, 2014 | Parties

On Thursday, November 13th, Avant Gallery and Manhattan magazine co-hosted the opening reception of Alejandro Vigilante’s new exhibition titled iPop: Social Commentary. New York City’s elite tech innovators & art patrons were treated to a meet & greet with the artist himself and were among the first to view Vigilante’s new artworks, which features humorous and ironic mixed-media works and paintings which draws its subject matter from popular culture.

Founder of the iPop Movement, Alejandro Vigilante gives a voice to iconic cultural figures in the digital age. A juxtaposition of classic photographs & famous quotes on wood or plexiglass that reference social media by pairing the celebrities with tweets, email content and facebook posts. It was an ideal mix of artists, media, collectors and neighbors who enjoyed the collection and got a chance to peruse Manhattan magazine’s November issue while imbibing in Alacran tequila, Peroni beer and Forever Young wine.
