Named after James “Jemmy” Madison, it is open year-round with plenty of special amenities, including a water feature during the late spring, summer and early fall and designated areas for both large and small dogs. The park is lined with umbrellas and plenty of seating for the owners, along with double entry and exit gates to ensure your pet's safety.

Pier 84 is just one of the five dog parks Hudson River Park has to offer. Take in the view in this Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood park along the Hudson River and explore the large open space where your dog can play with other pups. Some features include a spray shower, water fountain and pet bowl available from mid-April to early November. There are also special stone pieces that dogs can climb on and a double-gated safety vestibule for extra security.

Named after PAPD K-9 Sirius, a yellow labrador retriever who specialized in detecting bombs and lost his life during the 9/11 attacks, this park is very special to visitors. Tompkins Square Dog Run is New York’s first and largest dog run located in Tompkins Square Park. Beginning in 1990, residents were persistent in establishing a safe area where they could take their dogs in a friendly neighborhood. After a renovation in 2008, the park includes underground drainage, three swimming pools and areas to wash off your dog before returning home. The park is completely run by the community and built a loving and protective space through money and organized volunteers. All dogs of any shape and size are welcome!
