Late summer and early fall are the best times of year to enjoy farmers’ markets, as delicious late-summer tomatoes, summer squash and zucchini, apple cider donuts and all things pumpkin-flavored await. These are our favorite farmers markets in NYC all year round.

Isham St. between Seaman Ave and Cooper St. / Website
Although it may be a bit of a trek for Manhattanites, Inwood Greenmarket is a reliable option for a year-round, family-friendly market. Each week, a core group of farmers is always at Inwood, but during the peak season, there are even more vendors to choose from. Visitors enjoy local vendors and the park during their visit to Inwood Greenmarket.

Another year-round option, Union Square Greenmarket is a popular choice in Manhattan. Dozens of local vendors are at Greenmarket’s flagship market each week. Visitors can also enjoy some of the community events at the market too, including cooking demonstrations and cookbook signings.

For a Sunday market with lots of options, check out Tompkins Square Greenmarket. Stock up on hard cider for the fall at New York Cider Company or fresh artisan bread from Bread Alone. This East Village market also features events at its market, including seasonal celebrations and family-friendly activities.

Chelsea Down to Earth is another popular market in Manhattan with lots of vendors to check out. From handmade noodles to soap or even pickles, there is a lot to see at this Chelsea favorite. Enjoy a fresh scone from The Sconery with some coffee from Cano Coffee Company while strolling through local vendors.

Brooklyn’s flagship market, Grand Army Plaza, is the second largest farmers market in the Greenmarket program. Passersby from Prospect Park love to head into this market, as it features so many staple vendors to locals. Stock up on your produce for the week or check out some small businesses at this scenic location.

A smaller Brooklyn favorite, Domino Park Greenmarket offers a rotation of a few businesses. Be sure to visit during the warmer months, as it runs from June to November. This quaint Sunday market is a great place to stock up on produce for the week.

Another Brooklyn option, Brooklyn Borough Hall Greenmarket is the perfect place to grab some plants to decorate your home for the fall. This year-round Saturday market is great to stop by for essentials, too. If you’re looking for a midweek boost, visit the Dag Hammarskjold Market on Wednesdays. This Midtown location is perfect to stop by during your lunch break or between meetings. Dag Hammarskjold features staple vendors all year as well as featured vendors throughout the seasons. This season, check out Terhune Orchards for some cider to get into the fall mood!

If you’re looking to make some apple pie this fall, definitely check out Locust Grove Fruit Farm at the Tucker Square Greenmarket. This small, upper west side market offers lots of staples for your pantry. It is open on Thursdays, which is perfect for stocking up on ingredients to make a fall dessert over the weekend!
