Center Stage

| February 28, 2012 | Parties National

THE PARTY Darren Criss has been making waves as a rising Broadway star—perhaps to drive the point home, he performed a live set that included The Little Mermaid’s “Part of Your World,” “Funny Valentine” and, by himself at the piano as an encore, Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.” THE PLAYERS Next-generation stage stars turned out in support of Criss, including Lily Rabe and Book of Mormon co-stars Andrew Rannells and Nikki M. James. Meanwhile, near the bar, designer Chris Benz chatted with Susan Sarandon, who came with Jonathan Bricklin and ended up at the center booth, where Criss swung by after his set to receive effusive kudos from event co-hosts Parker Posey and Alan Cumming.
