| July 9, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY About 800 guests attended the star-studded opening night of this year’s Costume Institute exhibition: Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. Co-chair Anna Wintour helped raise more than $11.5 million at the gala, where tables cost up to $250,000. THE PLAYERS Before a dessert of violet tarts and chocolate petits fours Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Hugh Jackman each gave a speech to the crowd, which included Haider Ackermann, Oscar de la Renta, Tom Ford, Alexa Chung, Brooklyn Decker and Kirsten Dunst. After the event, co-chair Carey Mulligan auctioned off her silver- and gold- paillette Prada dress and donated the $2,950 to Oxfam America.
