Amid publishing his 91st book and a flurry of other projects, Deepak Chopra has clearly mastered his mindful method, even life’s hurried pace. We polled the recently relocated New Yorker for his words of wisdom.
You have been busy! What are your current projects? My new endeavors include Mindful Method with Fitbit, the Digital Deepak app, Chopra Whole Health Retreat at Civana, Chopra Mind-Body Zone and my 91st book, Total Meditation (Harmony).
I am going to focus on the convergence of technologies including VR and biofeedback and bioregulations with people in the world of technology to create new algorithms that correlate mood, facial microexpressions, eye movements, gestures and body language with biometrics such as immunoregulation, heart rate variability, electrodermal activity to measure stress, breathing and oxygen saturation and more to help people evaluate their well-being in real time (i.e., smartphones and others) and intervene in real time to maximize their well-being.
How do you think your work fills a need? Everything I do is with the focus and intention of one mission: to create a critical mass of 1 billion community to help to create a more peaceful, just, sustainable, healthier and joyful world. Every technology that helps me connect with the ecosystem of well-being helps me reach this goal.
How do you hope to bring about change? Social change happens on the basis of personal change. In the absence of personal transformation, there is no social transformation. My goal is to help everyone have a joyful, energetic body; loving, compassionate heart; reflective, alert mind; and lightness of being. If enough people experience this, the world will be transformed.

So are you now an official New Yorker? I am moving permanently to New York City, and hope to have more fun and a bigger reach from the Big Apple.
