DVF Awards

| May 1, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY When Diane von Furstenberg, Oprah Winfrey and Diane Sawyer joined forces at the United Nations, the girl-power levels reached heights that would make the Spice Girls proud. Just in time for International Women’s Day, five female honorees each received $50,000 from the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation to support their causes. After serving themselves from the buffet, guests sat (on DVF-printed furniture, natch) and enjoyed dinner. THE PLAYERS Before the award ceremony began, indie-pop songstress Ingrid Michaelson kicked off the evening by crooning “Live It With Love.” Later, award presenter Jessica Alba strutted onto the stage in a sequined pastel DVF minidress and patent Louboutins, noting in her speech that “it’s incredibly important for women to support women.” Photos by Chance Yeh/Patrick Mcmullan company; Joe Schildhorn/Billy Farrell Agency
