Sofía Sanchez de Betak designs a kimono-inspired line for The Luxury Collection.
CHUFY X The Luxury Collection Insects Short Kimono, $674

“Both The Prince Gallery in Tokyo and Suiran in Kyoto had beautiful kimonos waiting for me in my room upon arrival, and I ended up wearing each lovely garment throughout my travels,” explains Sofía Sanchez de Betak, the NYC-based graphic designer and creative director who recently revealed an exclusive capsule collection, CHUFY x The Luxury Collection. “This attention to detail and personal connection to the destination truly resonated with me and ultimately inspired me to create my own versions, with bold prints and my favorite [vintage Japanese] fabrics.” Also inspired by her array of antique matchboxes, the 36-piece collection features kimono-style robes and bomber jackets, as well as accessories in vibrant hues and traditional motifs such as cherry blossoms, Koinobori fish and dragons. $369-$2,500, Bergdorf Goodman, Fivestory, The Webster
