On Monday, May 9th, the National Meningitis Association held the Give Kids A Shot gala, where they honored New England Patriot and Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch with the Nancy Ford Springer Award. Carl Buher and Michael LaForgia were recognized with NMA T.E.A.M. Outstanding Service Awards, both survivors and advocates. Dr. Paul Lee, MD, an infectious disease specialist and advocate, was awarded the Health Achievement Award. Former NMA Honoree and Chair of Infectious Disease at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Paul A. Offit was the evening’s Master of Ceremonies. The evening included dinner and dancing with entertainment by actor and singer, Darius De Haas, currently in Broadway's Shuffle Along, as well as musician and bandleader, Tito Puente, Jr.
