Mervyn discovered hacking at a young age and utilized it to cheat in a popular game. “I started my career in this field as anyone with my skill set probably does: as a black hat hacker. I am not proud of it, but I was young I suppose and I did not know any better. I turned into an ethical hacker later and started working for private companies, providing cybersecurity and informing companies of the leaks and bugs in their systems. Now, I use my knowledge to secure and improve the tech and cyber backbone of a company by fixing problems and reporting vulnerabilities,” said Mervyn.

These days, Mervyn is taking an interest in bitcoin, because the tech aspect of the cryptocurrency satisfies his skill set. Therefore, his research is currently focused on blockchain development, and developing blockchain-related technology for private clients to use in developing tighter security for their industries and cybersecurity. He even develops trading bots so that users can come up with their own unique trading strategies using the AI technology used to develop the trading bots.

Goh En Wei Mervyn took his inspiration from movies like Blackhat to become a black hat hacker. It took him a while to understand how wrong he was, but now, his work is solely focused on helping others.
