A fantasyland for both the young and the young at heart is the theme for the newly renovated New York Fifth Avenue Gucci Children’s Boutique, where the spring 2017 children’s collection recently debuted. The fanciful space presents life as seen through the eyes of a child with a wild imagination, with lion’s paws peeping out from under furniture pieces and massive wooden pineapples scattered throughout the store. The collection ranges from iconic baby booties and chic diaper bags for mom to powder-pink, silk chiffon mini-me frocks with embroidered poppies along the bodice. The Fifth Avenue children’s boutique, which first opened in 2011, remains the brand’s only store in North America to be dedicated solely to the children’s collection, for which designer Alessandro Michele unveils whimsical prints and playful colors that capture the essence of childhood. Presented alongside pistachio-colored carpets, and bright and boldly patterned walls adorned with whimsical wardrobes stocked with ruffle- and bow-bedecked wares, the luxe label’s frilly fashions are sure to resonate with all creatures, great and small. $95-$1,980, 725 Fifth Ave.
