Since opening in 2018, Gucci Wooster has become a mainstay for luxury shopping in NYC. Spanning an entire city block, the store now enjoys a new design that serves as a tribute to both NYC’s verve and classic Italian craftsmanship. Located within a 155-year-old landmark-protected former pencil factory, the new store honors the building’s original framework through gorgeous exposed brickwork, tin ceilings and storied wooden floors. New elements such as steel, glass and cement finishes meld with the original elements, resulting in a seamless design that feels true to Soho.
Italian design abounds through the space in selections from legacy brands such as Cassina, B&B, and Minotti. The fitting rooms are outfitted with Rosso Ancora panels, and a video piece by Italian master Aligheiro Boetti graces the space. The store remains home to the Gucci Wooster Bookstore, curated by Dashwood Books. Titles focus on contemporary art and photography, with many titles out of print.
With over 10,000 square feet of space, both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, jewelry, accessories, and more will be available to shop. The boutique is also debuting the women’s SS24 collection, including the limited edition acid green variation of the Jackie Notte bag.
Celebrations of the opening included a custom Ancora Airstream traveling the city and offering warm beverages to New Yorkers and activations with NYC mainstays such as Jac’s on Bond, Sant Ambreous, Jean’s, and Nine Orchard, through which guests could collect limited-edition Ancora postcards featuring designs from the SS24 campaign.
