Hidden Gems

| April 28, 2011 | Parties National

The Party: Rose-colored lights evoked a Venetian sunset and sopranos serenaded costumed guests at the masquerade ball celebrating the 40th anniversary of the nonprofit devoted to preserving the Italian city’s historic art and architecture. By evening’s end, partygoers had raised $650,000 for the restoration of the Church of San Sebastiano, originally constructed in the 16th century. The Players: European beauties Giovanna Battaglia and Elisa Sednaoui said ciao to the likes of Courtney Love, Coralie Charriol Paul and the artist Will Cotton, even if it required removing their elaborate masks made of feathers and rhinestones.
