Followed by the success of the Brazilian brand’s debut at New York Fashion Week, PatBO continues to make its mark in New York City with the launch of its first brick-and-mortar store in Soho.
The Soho address aims to become a destination for customers to experience the world of PatBO and will feature all product extensions; Ready-To-Wear, Swim, Bridal, and Leisure along with exclusives that will only be found in the flagship.
PatBO captures the vibrant energy of South America through its artfully hand-embroidered RTW and Swim Collection.
Born and raised in Brazil, Founder & Creative Director Patricia Bonaldi began her career by opening a multi-brand store in her hometown of Uberlândia. Soon after, she began receiving requests to design her own collection, launching her eponymous label.
“We launched our international business out of our NY office four years ago. It was an organic and natural decision that we have our flagship store be where our expansion began and to have the full support of the local team in this first venture into retail,” Patricia Bonaldi.
Today, the richly detailed embroidery and bold prints that are a hallmark of the label are a perfect example of the brand’s commitment to both technical expertise and boundless imagination.
Rather than outsourcing this, Bonaldi established a school in her hometown for the express purpose of teaching local women this special craft. Today, hundreds of local artists are empowered by the skills they have acquired.
The store design was conceptualized by Uppercase with the support of Sargenti Architects to bring the vision to life. Furniture was sourced from LuLu and Georgia as well as custom pieces brought in by Claude Home’s Maggie Holladay.
Original wallpaper was created in Brazil and features one of Bonaldi’s hand-drawn prints. The two-level space has design elements such as tambour wood walls, precious quartzite stone, custom epoxy floors, and a bench that doubles as a bar seating area and planter for a tropical oasis.
“We’ve amassed an incredible following here in the US through our marketing and PR efforts and have longed to create an environment where these loyal clients and friends of the brand can appreciate the intricate hand-embroidery and bold prints in person,” Patricia Bonaldi.
PatBO is now sold in 20 different countries and available in more than 200 stores globally including Net-a-Porter, Bergdorf Goodman, FWRD, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Moda Operandi.
Bonaldi anticipates continued growth with plans to open 3 stores in the US in the next five years.
