As of yesterday, Italian-Inspired West Village hotspot, L'Artusi, is re-launching its takeout and delivery operations that became increasingly popular during the height of the pandemic.
Similar to many NYC restaurants over the weekend, L’Artusi decided to pause in-person dining for the time being due to the rising number of COVID cases plaguing the city.
When the restaurant first closed at the start of the pandemic last year, partner Kevin Garry, executive chef Joe Vigorito, and the whole L’Artusi team pivoted quickly to offer L’Artusi to-go for the first time.
New Yorkers were now able to bring L’Artusi’s pasta dishes into their homes, and the L’Artusi team learned quickly how to tweak their dishes for to-go containers, resulting in perfectly saucy Cacio e Pepe, juicy Roasted Chicken, and an at-home version of the restaurant’s fan-favorite Roasted Mushroom topped with a fried egg.
Due to the increase in demand for L’Artusi to-go over the past year, the delivery and takeout kitchen is now entirely operating out of Via Porta [522 Hudson Street], the team’s new sandwich shop.
Starting at 3 PM, L’Artusi is available for pickup and delivery on Caviar and Doordash.
Stay tuned for more updates on everybody's favorite NYC restaurants!
