Maisonette and obé Fitness recently launched a 3-piece tie-dye capsule collection for summer. The mommy-and-me capsule includes a onesie, kid's tee and adult long sleeve and the collection will be sold exclusively on maisonette.com and obefitness.com. Obé has quickly become the must-do streaming workout for busy women everywhere, while Maisonette has cornered the market on adorable children’s fashion. We chatted to Obé co-founders Mark Mullett and Ashley Mills about the cutest summer collaboration.
How did the collaboration with Maisonette come about?
MARK MULLETT/ ASHLEY MILLS: We’re friends with the folks at Maisonette and they’re our neighbors here in Dumbo. It’s been incredible to witness what they’ve built: a highly visual and immersive lifestyle brand, just like obé. The obé mom is a busy, go-getter who values fitness and fashion as much as she does convenience. This mommy and me collection was a way for us to bring each of those elements together in a fun, bright and elevated way: the hand tie-dyed, 100% cotton pieces are all perfect for après sweat, sand or nap!
What does the collection consist of and how long will it be available?
MM/AM: The mommy and me collection includes 3 exclusive, hand-dyed items: the Luna onesie, Donovan Kid’s tee & Après Sweat/Sand Long Sleeve (for mom!). The collection is limited-edition and will be available while supplies last.
How were the designs/colors chosen?
MM/AM: We love a tie-dye moment and bringing that to life in the obé color scheme was a dream! The colors mimic the lightbox where all of our live & on-demand classes are filmed – it’s all about color, levity & joy.
What was the experience like collaborating together?
MM/AM: Wonderful! We’re thrilled to have worked with Maisonette as our first retail partner.
What will the August 3 event be (where/who is attending etc)?
MM/AM: August 3rd will be obé’s annual Hampton’s event in celebration of the partnership at Co-Founder and Co-CEO Mark Mullett’s home. The event will be co-hosted by obé, Maisonette, Katie Lee, Fiona Rudin, Ann Tenenbaum & Claude Wasserstein. The class will be led by obé superstar instructor, Isaac Calpito, with other partners including the Culinistas, Drunk Elephant & more.
