For far too many men and women throughout the Big Apple, 2020 was a nightmare. Hopefully, we can look ahead to a bright new year, managing the ongoing stressors of global pandemics and unpleasant politics. You can be as smart as a whip, but left in the dark if you are not prepared for any situation. Possessing a messy office with a confusing appointment book often leads to a lack of focus. A lack of concentration can lead to anxiety and even depression. Whether it’s on a desktop calendar, your computer or smartphone, make yourself a schedule with a “To-Do” list. Set simple reminders, whether it’s for a doctor’s appointment or to feed the dog. Just think of Jack Nicholson in The Departed yelling at Matt Damon, “You better get organized!”

3. Create a Fun Workout Routine


Rather than spending 60 minutes on a treadmill 5 days a week, put together an all new and exciting way to exercise and destress. Maybe it will be joining a competitive racquetball league, or perhaps you can participate in a Zumba class. In other words, you don’t have to ski the Alps or jump out of an airplane. Whatever the case may be, find something fun enough to keep you going back on a regular basis. Ask around and look online for some unorthodox and adventurous methods of working out.

4. LOL


Believe it or not, the simple process of laughing can be beneficial for both your mental and physical well-being. While children certainly giggle much more than adults, the expressions of amusement are known to reduce stress, as well as anxiety. Even a person’s cardiovascular health can be strengthened by laughing. Sure, spending quality time with loved ones may be a tad difficult with social distancing, but everyone can still see one another online. And there is nothing to stop us from watching some old school Eddie Murphy or Larry David on the tube. OMG. LMAO! Toss in some of the best CBD oil, and complete relaxation becomes a piece of cake.
