This interactive exhibit focuses on the origin and history of the artist’s painting “The Red Studio” (1911), which depicts his vibrant and inspiring Parisian work space, and showcases never-before-seen photographs and letters from Matisse, as well as a section devoted to conservation science and other recent findings related to the process of the painting’s making. Viewers are invited to take part in the experience by reflecting on, drawing or painting the spaces and colors that inspire them. Through Sept. 10, 11 W. 53rd St.
