New York Premiere of "Girls"

| May 29, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY After the screening of HBO’s much-buzzed-about show Girls, cast members and their famous friends left the SVA Theatre for the Top of the Standard. The after-party turned into quite the fĂȘte, hosting everyone from Charlotte Ronson to Katie Couric. Beats from DJ Coleman helped partygoers burn off the calories from the 1,400 mini cupcakes on hand, arranged to spell out the show’s name. THE PLAYERS Executive producer Judd Apatow took a lighthearted jab at Brian Williams, whose daughter, Allison, stars in the series (and some salacious scenes), when he called the evening “the most uncomfortable night of Brian Williams’ life!” Lena Dunham, the show’s writer, director and star, tweeted at her former babysitter Zac Posen, who was also in attendance: “You were the best babysitter… you made me a frayed leather skirt.” Photos by Nicholas Hunt/Patrick McMullan
