Big-name brands are opening the doors to their newest showrooms this season.
Brown Jordan’s sleek outdoor offerings are perfect for spaces near and far.
Brown Jordan
Time to refresh the patio? Look no further: Brown Jordan, the first company to exclusively sell outdoor furniture, will open a showroom this September at the New York Design Center. This 6,600-square-foot space will showcase some of the brand’s most popular designs, such as the Oscar and Moto collections, designed by Ann Marie Vering, and the H line by Toan Nguyen. Clients can also explore long-tenured collections, such as designs by Walter Lamb and Richard Frinier.
“The new showroom marks the beginning of Brown Jordan’s next chapter and will celebrate the brand’s long history of iconic, award-winning design innovation,” says Gene Moriarty, Brown Jordan president and CEO. “We’re excited to put a new flag in the ground in New York City and further build our incredible partnerships with the architecture and design community.” 200 Lexington Ave.
REDU
Brooklyn-based, minority- and woman-owned brand REDU holds sustainability and reusability as its core values. The company, with a chic new showroom on Second Avenue, rescues discarded materials from local manufacturers and builders to reimagine them into new and unique styles. “We have rescued approximately 28 million pounds of materials since our inception, which has saved the city an incredible amount of money,” says Amber Lasciak, REDU’s founder. The brand also launched a new sustainable furniture line —its first furniture made from scratch—featuring a selection of benches, tables and couches.
Inside REDU’s new space
The interactive showroom offers a space to partake in REDU’s workshop, in which audiences can participate in the process of fabrication, upholstery and finishing touches. A gallery show was also launched in coordination with the showroom debut, Re-B(earth): The Near Death Experience of Trash, through which Lasciak challenges guests to see trash through a novel lens. “Where other people see trash, we see potential,” says Lasciak. “Waste is a mentality.” 1285 Second Ave.
Boccara

With an expertise in carpets and rugs, Marien debuts the Boccara Collection in the shop, which features pieces by contemporary artists and designers. Works sold at this boutique include coffee tables and sconces that resemble art sculptures, featuring designs by French designer Jean Yves Lanvin. Tapestries in the store range from modern to antique, rugs are artful and French, and fine art like paintings and sculptures is on offer as well. Plus, unique tapestries will be available for the first time at this location, designed by modernistera artists Fernand Léger, Jean Lurçat and Sonia Delaunay. With a wide selection, this showroom offers only the highest quality in fine art from well-known names such as Clément Rosenthal and Wang Keeping. 232 E. 59th St.
