Stars and dancers came out for New York City Ballet’s annual luncheon benefit honoring choreographer Jerome Robbins.
THE PARTY Dancers, choreographers, Tony Award winners and more came together in support of New York City Ballet’s annual luncheon at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater. Sponsored by Max Mara, the event honored NYCB co-founder Jerome Robbins and raised $630,000 for the dance company. THE GUESTS Harrison Coll was this year’s recipient of The Janice Levin Dancer Award, which spotlights one talented corps de ballet dancer every year. Guests such as principal dancer Patricia McBride, Chita Rivera, Drew Barrymore, Jean-Pierre Frohlich, Warren Carlyle and Casey Fremont Crowe took lunch on the theater’s promenade. THE HIGHLIGHTS A tribute to his notable contributions to both ballet and musical theater, the entertainment program, Jerome Robbins: A West Side Story, followed personal stories and excerpts from Robbins’ most famous pieces in both art forms. -Sharon Choe
