Opening Night at the Mondrian Soho Hotel

| April 28, 2011 | Parties

The Party: The towering new hotel celebrated its unveiling and the christening of its Old Shanghai–themed club, Mister H, with performances by The Kills and a screening of a short film shot on the 15th floor by Poppy de Villeneuve. Not even the blustery rain could keep away guests including Chiara Clemente and designers Prabal Gurung and Richard Chai. The Players: Russell Simmons and Eve rubbed elbows with Amy Sacco, who was undoubtedly curious to see the latest nightlife venture from Armin Amirir. (He used to man the door at Sacco’s Bungalow 8.) Stylist Brad Goreski and designer Charlotte Ronson stuck around until the wee hours. Overheard: “Some of my new friends here are younger than my son—and he’s 23!”–Patrick McMullan
