THE PARTY Meryl Streep headlined the unveiling of the buzzy Margaret Thatcher biopic—albeit in her own way, skipping past most of the photo line on her way into the theater, where she joined fellow trailblazers Gloria Steinem and Tina Brown. THE PLAYERS One of the year’s most anticipated movies, the viewing drew more than a few A-list admirers. Regis Philbin munched on popcorn at the concession stand as Vera Farmiga, Sofia Coppola and Olivia Wilde filed in. WHERE TO NEXT Forty-Four at the Royalton, where guests dined on sliders, green beans and ravioli while Streep held court in a sunken lounge with her daughter, actress Mamie Gummer. The Oscar winner’s portrait of the prime minister seemed to go over well. “Witnessing it was a gift,” gushed Streep’s The Devil Wears Prada co-star, Anne Hathaway. Photos by Marion Curtis/Starpix
