Home rentals from TV and movies are nothing new. Whether it's the Swan house from Twilight or Carrie Bradshaw's apartment on Sex and the City, there are plenty of ways to live like your favorite fictional characters, but never have we heard of a cartoon abode coming to life—until now.
Vacation rental service Vacasa announced Wednesday that it's booking rentals in the home of one of the most reluctant holiday staples in history: Dr Seuss’s Grinch!
Yes, the mean, green, Christmas-stealing machine apparently left his cave for the holiday season, and he's listing the property from Monday to Thursday, Dec. 13 to 23. Bookings are set to open Friday, Dec. 3.

“As we are all painfully aware, the most miserable time of the year approaches," the Grinch writes on the official listing. "Caroling, candy canes, and, of course, that constant, contagious Christmas cheer. Yuck. I myself, unlike every other Who, am getting out of town this year… Am I stealing Christmas again? Maybe. Am I visiting my Florida beach home? Don’t worry about it. Either way, good news for you. While I’m gone, you can stay in my cave.”
Located high above Whoville—which is apparently what the Grinch calls Boulder, Utah—the cave is a real-life carved out masterpiece, located at 1957 Mt. Crumpit Drive. The home is multilevel masterpiece, complete with master bedroom, guest room and two fully functional bathrooms.

“I’m not an animal, you know,” the Grinch writes.
The home also has all the Seussian finishes for the famous character. Guests can sleep in the Grinch’s real bed with a complicated alarm clock on a nearby nightstand, and try a game of chess at his table, though his dog Max won’t be around to take on any challengers. There are also a few cute decorations nearby, including “custom Turkish tailored green fur pants,” a library full of books, and a real-life pipe organ.

Also noteworthy is the kitchen, which comes with a few Whovian favorites such as Who-hash, roast beast, Who-pudding, Whamble Bamble Crunch and Cheery-O’s. Renters will still need to bring their own food, however, if they plan on having guests.
For those not able to make the trip out to Who-ville (a.k.a. Boulder) this December, Vacasa offers a 3D tour of the property, which is a very fun way to spend a few minutes. See if you can find the following:
For those who have ever found themselves obsessing over Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” there is now an opportunity to stay at the Grinch’s famous cave this holiday season.

Vacasa has warned that the cave is still under a bit of construction. A section of the home is blocked with “Do Not Enter” signs, and no cable or internet connection is available on the premises, meaning no streaming of any of the Grinch’s famous movies. That being said, it might be a perfect holiday getaway this winter. Nothing makes you miss Christmas more than being fully cut off from it!
Bookings open Friday, Dec. 3, at about 7 am PT. Mark your calendars, and keep an eye on your roast beast! Visit the official listing to learn more.
