With glasses firmly as much of an accessory as a necessity, Robert Marc NYCtakes yet another step forward through its newest rendition of stunning spectacles with the Icons collection. The rims that surround RMNYC’s signature hinge design can be made in a variety of different colors, from deep red to jet black. The collection also introduces two new treatments: all-black acetate and buffalo horn, the latter of which is Robert Marc’s first step into incorporating natural, sustainable materials in its products. “To me, horn is the finest material in the world with rich, layered textures that give it an incomparable fit, feel and patina,” says Jeff Press, creative director of RMNYC. Artisans in France and Germany have been producing these items in small amounts. So far, the first release has seen 12 items, which are sold in all seven retail outlets in NYC. Plus, the profits from the first month of release have been donated to Jumpstart to provide education and literacy to underprivileged children. Acetate from $365, buffalo horn from $1,595, 1225 Madison Ave.
