On Monday, March 14th, The School of American Ballet hosted 500 patrons for its 2016 Winter Ball sponsored by French jewelry designer, Van Cleef & Arpels. The black tie dinner dance, now in its ninth year, raised a near $1.2 million. The proceeds benefit all aspects of the school's ballet training program, which includes supporting faculty, maintaining the world-class studios and offering vital student programs outside of the classroom, all while providing $2 million annually in student scholarships. The event began with cocktails at 7 PM, followed by dinner at 8 PM and a student performance that was specifically choregraphed for the occasion. The night ended with dancing and dessert.
