Sky-High Style

Masters of their craft combine to create a one-of-a-kind residential building in the heart of New York City's Financial District.
The tower units each have a great room with floor-to-ceiling windows

When Soho Properties’ chairman and CEO, Sharif El-Gamal, set out to develop the uberluxurious condo development 45 Park Place in Tribeca, he pulled together an impressive team, including noted Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni, and architects Michel Abboud of SOMA and Pritzker Prize winner Jean Nouvel, who is designing the adjacent museum and public plaza. The result? Fifty homes in a grand 43-story skyscraper, with no more than two units per floor, all with soaring ceilings, breathtaking views and access to world-class amenities—including this posh residence now on the market for $11.75 million

“While 45 Park Place checks all the boxes for features like views, great floor plans and high ceilings, the most unique aspect is [having secured] world-renowned architect and designer Piero Lissoni for his first residential building in New York,” says Vickey Barron of Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, who serves as the lead sales broker for 45 Park Place. “Piero handpicked each and every material used, the majority of which came directly from Italy. It truly makes 45 Park Place a one-of-a-kind building.”

Situated on the 27th level of 45 Park Place—near Brookfield Place, Westfield, Whitney Museum of American Art and the highly anticipated Ronald O. Perelman Center for Performing Arts at the World Trade Center—this full-floor residence is rife with sleek and modern accoutrements. Expect 3,562 square feet of living space, complete with select-grade white oak flooring, as well as a Boffi-designed chef’s kitchen and butler’s pantry. Each full bath features a free-standing soaking tub surrounded by walls clad in Italian textured Pietra d’Avola raw limestone designed by Lissoni for Salvatori, while the elegant powder room boasts silk georgette stone with vanities by Italian custom manufacturer MOMA Design.

Yet more showstopping features include soaring ceilings encased with floor-to-ceiling glass curtain walls that provide 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline, along with a stunning great room offering triple-exposure vistas of the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center, Hudson River, Midtown Manhattan and the Empire State Building. But that’s not all: The lucky owner of this new residence also is privy to three levels of amenities designed by Lissoni. Think a double-height, 24-hour-attended lobby and garden; a 50-foot indoor lap pool and a spa; a resident’s lounge with a retractable movie screen, pool table and Boffi catering pantry, ideal for informal entertaining; a fitness center with a yoga and barre studio; and a children’s playroom accessorized with tatami mat flooring, chalkboard wall surfaces and whimsical furniture.“45 Park Place is the encapsulation of the incredible talent of a diverse group of influential visionaries,” El-Gamal says. “We are extremely proud of the remarkable tower we are bringing to downtown Manhattan, as we make our mark on the Manhattan skyline.”
