amfAR’s New York Inspiration Gala at MoMA THE PARTY Guests were encouraged to dress in black tie with metallic accents for the AIDS research–focused nonprofit’s fundraiser at MoMA, which honored James Franco and Michael Kors for their devotion to the cause. There was plenty of hardware (and nude torsos) on display during the runway show, which had mostly male models trotting out some 70 looks. During dinner, a lucky bidder won the rights to a private photo session with Franco for $16,000. THE PLAYERS “It’s a combination of fashion, medicine, Hollywood, Chelsea, uptown… a little bit of everything,” Kors explained. During her speech, Liza Minnelli paid homage to AIDS activist Elizabeth Taylor, and Franco turned around in his chair to chat with Ke$ha between performances by Jennifer Hudson and Courtney Love. BEST DRESSED Heidi Klum, in a turquoise gown by Michael Kors—and perfectly bronzed skin. “It’s a spray tan—Jimmy Jimmy Coco,” she confessed. OVERHEARD “I’m afraid of lightning and thunder, so I can’t have my man wearing a bunch of metal.” –Chanel Iman
