Take Me To Church’s
Church’s Burwood W O.W
Designer Virgil Abloh’s uniquely distinctive and unexpected collaboration with storied British brand Church's first appeared to the public on the Off -White Spaceship Earth, an Imaginary Experience runway show during Paris Fashion Week. At first a seemingly odd pairing, the capsule collection shows the best traits of both brands. The genderless “question everything” philosophy of the late Abloh combines with the storied history and artisan excellence of the footwear brand. Aptly named Off -White c/o Church’s, this first drop is a remastering of the brand’s Burwood style through the lens of a completely new and contemporary eye, maintaining the key DNA of each brand. The brogue style that dates back to 1953 is turned on its head by replacing the traditional brown suede upper with black brushed calfskin. The signature screen printing of Off -White and hangtag ensure style in every stride. Stay tuned for the second drop hitting stores and online June 27.
Fendace Fever
Versace by Fendi printed black leather Fendace logo shopper
Not since Bennifer roared back into our collective consciousness have two names so seamlessly fit together. Fendi plus Versace equals Fendace, and just like that the internet was ablaze with a million searches for this hard-to-label collection. Was it a collaboration? Is it a capsule? Will there be a new brand? To designer Donatella Versace, “Fendace will always mean love.”
Looks from the runway
To Fendi artistic director Kim Jones, “it’s a swap rather than a collaboration, and, most of all, it is done out of friendship.” However you define it, the looks represent the best of both worlds: the in-your-face prints and sexy over-the-top attitude of Versace with the chic confidence of the Fendi woman. Shown during a particularly strong season at Milan Fashion Week, the collection boasts some knockout day and evening looks and, of course, lustworthy accessories that are certain to be instant classics and collectors’ items.
