On Tuesday, November 17th, The Olana Partnership held its annual 2015 Frederic E. Church Award Gala at The Metropolitan Club. The FEC Award recognizes outstanding accomplishment in American art, culture and landscape design and environmental conservation. Award honorees included Martin Puryear, one of America’s foremost contemporary artists, Jason Rosenfeld, Professor of Art History at Marymount Manhattan College, Lucy Rockefeller Waletzky, M.D., Chair of the NYS Council of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and Jim Hamilton, who wrote the original bill signed by Governor Nelson Rockefeller to make Olana a State Historic Site. The Olana Partnership honored its long-standing partnership with NYS by recognizing Governor Cuomo’s NY Parks 2020: A Vision for Transforming NY Parks. The event raised more than $500,000 for the organization.
The Olana Partnership, a private non-profit organization, works with New York State to support the restoration, conservation and interpretation of the designated National Historic Landmark Olana State Historic Site. For more information, please visit olana.org.
