Tom Brady and Gisele Sell NYC Apartment For Millions Before Miami Move
|January 5, 2021|Home & Real Estate,
Star quaterback Tom Brady and supermodel Giselle Bündchen are officially Floridians after selling their Manhattan condo for $37 million.
The New York Post reports that the quick sale to a Connecticut-based financier made the pair a profit of $11.54 million, having originally bought the 12th-floor unit at 70 Vestry St. for $25.46 million in 2018. With 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms and a 1,900-square-foot terrace, the new owner surely has nothing to complain about.
Brady and Bündchen have kept possession of a smaller unit in the same building, designed by Robert A.M. Stern, whose firm also created the newly-opened 220 Central Park South, five units of which counted in the 10 most expensive homes sold in the United States for all of 2020.
The former New England Patriot currently plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he and wife chose to live a bit further south, nabbing a $17 million on a luxury home on Miami's Indian Creek Island. The neighborhood, affectionately referred to as "billionaires bunker," is home to singer Julio Iglesias, supermodel Adriana Lima, former Sears CEO Eddie Lampert and others.
The happy couple plan to tear down the existing Miami home and rebuild the estate with more eco-friendly specs and ammenities, similar to what they did with their home in Brentwood, Ca., which once graced the cover of Archiectural Digest and eventually sold to hip-hop icon Dr. Dre.
