Since 2008, Cure Thrift has become a hot spot for thrifting, as well as a go-to for those looking to donate their preloved items.
Bottomless Closet has provided women with the tools, attention and resources needed to enter the workforce and get back on their feet for more than 20 years. It accepts new and gently worn women’s professional clothing and accessories, and a donation can help a woman become self-sufficient and achieve newfound success. 16 E. 52nd St., 15th Floor
For over 40 years, City Opera Thrift Shop has been supporting New York City Opera and the arts through proceeds from its store along with curating monthly events to benefit the cause. As for donating, both drop-off and pick-up options are on offer for clothing, accessories, home decor and furniture you wish to pass on in support of NYCO. 513 W. 26th St.
This vintage thrift shop in the East Village accepts a wide range of apparel, furniture and collectibles. Donating is simple, and all proceeds go to Type 1 diabetes research and advocacy, as founder Liz Wolff is passionate about helping to find a cure. But make note: The shop will be sporting a new address on Third Avenue this season after moving out of its East 13th Street space in September after a 13-year stay. 91 Third Ave.
Housing Works is a community of individuals living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and offers a variety of ways to give back year-round. From cash, clothing and stock donations to volunteering time to participate in events, giving in any form advocates for funding and legislation to end homelessness and increase access to stable, permanent housing for those living with HIV/AIDS.
