White Hot

| February 28, 2012 | Parties National

THE PARTY Benefiting the institution’s education programs, the Bronx flora preserve’s annual gala drew more than 300 guests dressed in luxurious accordance with the evening’s “Winter White and Black” theme. Following cocktails under the grand rotunda’s Palm Dome, dinner was served in a white-curtained tent sprinkled with imitation snow. In a playful touch, more than a dozen model trains chugged past miniature New York landmarks created from twigs, seeds and other organic elements. THE PLAYERS Alexandra Lebenthal mingled with fellow event chairmen Jennifer Creel and Nina Garcia. Adding sparkle (and some dance moves) to proceedings in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory were sociable young couples Dalia Oberlander and Nick Brown and Kate Schelter and Chris Schumacher, who carpooled to the event with Lydia Fenet and Tracy Smith. BEST DRESSED Dr. Susan Krysiewicz, in a feathered white ball gown that jived dramatically with the faux-snowy environs. Photos by Patrick McMullan Co.; Will Raggozino/Billy Farrell Agency
