Whitney Art Party

| June 27, 2011 | Parties

Most big New York museums throw fizzy spring parties; rarely, however, do they have as much to celebrate as the Whitney did. Earlier in the day, Mayor Bloomberg led the official groundbreaking of the institution’s new $720 million building in the Meatpacking District. Designed by the blue-chip architect Renzo Piano, it will make a heck of a southern gateway to the High Line. Definitely worth raising a glass to!
